ABC (Aerial Bundled Cable), also known as aerial insulated cable, is a type of cable used in overhead power transmission and distribution systems. It consists of multiple insulated wires bundled together. Compared with bare wires, it has higher safety, durability and protection performance. It is widely used in urban power distribution, rural power grid transformation and building power supply.

Classification of ABC cables

According to different voltage levels and structures, ABC cables are mainly divided into:

Low voltage ABC cables (0.6/1kV): used for low voltage distribution networks, composed of aluminum conductors and XLPE or PVC insulation.

Medium voltage ABC cables (10kV~35kV): used for medium voltage transmission systems, usually with a three-core structure, each core has an insulation layer, and is equipped with steel core aluminum stranded wire or insulated neutral wire.

High voltage ABC cables (above 35kV): used for special high voltage transmission lines, with stricter structural and material requirements.


Application scenarios of ABC cables:

Urban power grid: suitable for densely populated areas, reducing the space occupied by lines and improving power supply safety.

Rural power grid transformation: improving power supply stability and reducing power outages caused by weather factors.

Mountainous and forest areas: resistant to tree contact, wind and rain, reducing short circuit faults.

Islands and coastal areas: strong corrosion resistance, adaptable to humid and salt spray environments.
