Want to learn more? Check out our electrical cable most frequently asked questions.
What are the application scenarios of copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable?
Copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable is widely used in low-voltage and medium-voltage overhead power transmission, especially in urban and rural overhead power distribution systems. In addition, it is also suitable for various scenarios such as access cables for solar photovoltaic systems, industrial power transmission, street lighting, traffic signal systems, etc.
What is the operating temperature range of copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable?
The operating temperature range of copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable is generally **-40°C to +90°C**. The polyethylene insulation layer can withstand severe cold or high temperature environments, ensuring that the cable can still operate stably under extreme climate conditions.
How durable is copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable?
Copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable uses high-quality polyethylene (PE) insulation material, which has excellent weather resistance, UV resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. It can be used for a long time in harsh environments such as sunlight, rain, wind and sand, has a long service life, and can still maintain stable power transmission performance in harsh outdoor environments.
What is the maximum voltage that copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable can withstand?
The rated voltage of copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable is 0.6/1kV, which is suitable for low voltage and medium voltage power transmission. It is very suitable for use in urban power distribution networks, industrial power systems, and solar photovoltaic access systems.
What are the advantages of copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable compared with aluminum core cable?
Compared with aluminum core cable, copper core cable has better conductivity, which can effectively reduce energy loss in power transmission and improve power transmission efficiency. Copper's anti-oxidation performance is also better than aluminum, so copper core cable has longer long-term stability and service life.
What are the installation requirements of copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable?
Copper core polyethylene insulated overhead cable has good flexibility and is suitable for installation in various complex environments. It is usually laid overhead and does not require additional protective pipes. During installation, ensure that the spacing and load-bearing capacity of the cable between the support points meet the requirements to avoid excessive stretching or damage to the cable. It is recommended to check the insulation layer of the cable regularly to prevent power system failures due to aging or external damage.
