Twisted Pair Signal Communication Control Cable consists of two insulated wires twisted around each other, designed to effectively transmit analog and digital signals. Its unique twisting design not only reduces electromagnetic interference, but also ensures high fidelity and stability of the signal. According to the different shielding designs, twisted pair cables are mainly divided into the following two types:

•Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP): Suitable for environments with relatively low requirements for anti-interference, with the advantages of high cost-effectiveness and easy installation.

•Shielded Twisted Pair (STP): A shielding layer is added to the outside of each pair of wires to provide stronger anti-interference capabilities and is suitable for high-noise environments.


Standard:
Twisted pair cables must comply with multiple international standards to ensure their performance and reliability. For example, IEC 61156-7:2023 specifies the requirements for symmetrical twisted pair cables with transmission characteristics up to 1200MHz, which is suitable for various digital and analog communication systems. In addition, the ISO/IEC 11801 standard defines different categories of twisted pair cables, such as Category 5e, Category 6, etc., which are suitable for different frequency ranges and application scenarios.

Transmission Distance: Standard twisted pair cables usually have a maximum transmission distance of 100 meters without the use of repeaters. Beyond this distance, you may need to use a repeater or choose a low-attenuation cable type.

Conductor maximum rated operating temperature: Depending on the specific model, the conductor's maximum rated operating temperature can be 70°C or 90°C.

Conductor maximum short-circuit temperature: Depending on the specific model, the conductor's maximum short-circuit temperature can be 160°C or 250°C, and the duration shall not exceed 5 seconds.

Installation and laying temperature: The minimum installation and laying temperature shall not be lower than 0°C.


Laying temperature:

 When laid in air, the temperature should be 40°C.

When laid in soil, the temperature should be 25°C.


Minimum bending radius:

Single-core cable: The minimum bending radius is 20 times the cable outer diameter (D+d) ±5%.

Multi-core cable: The minimum bending radius is 15 times the cable outer diameter (D+d) ±5%.

KVV Cable Installation Problem

What is the bending radius of KVV cable? The bending radius of KVV cable is generally not less than 6 times the outer diameter of the cable, and for cables with armored or copper tape shielding structures, it is not less than 12 times the outer diameter of the cable. Too small a bending radius will damage the cable and affect its service life.

What are the requirements for the laying environment of KVV cable? The laying environment temperature of KVV cable should not be lower than 0℃. If the ambient temperature is below 0℃, the cable should be preheated. Avoid sharp-angle bending, extrusion and other mechanical damage during laying.
